Harvard Glee Club performs Stravinsky's Oedipus Rex, presented by Emmanuel Music
The Harvard Glee Club partners with the Orchestra and Chorus of Emmanuel Music to present Stravinsky's Oedipus Rex. An opera-oratorio based on Sophocles and with a libretto by Cocteau, the piece is a gripping musical adaptation of the mythological tragedy. The HGC is no stranger to Stravinsky's monumental work, having performed it previously alongside such musical luminaries as Leonard Bernstein and, nearly 80 years ago, in its American premiere....
Spring break finds the Harvard Glee Club on tour throughout Illinois, Wisconsin, and Minnesota, sharing the warmth of music and camaraderie in the chill of March in the upper Midwest. The week will feature a number of performances and collaborations with ensembles in the area, with additional information to follow.
World premiere of the Davison Mass by Carson Cooman
In partnership with the Boys Choir of All Saints at Ashmont, the Harvard Glee Club presents premiere performances of Carson Cooman's Davison Mass, a piece written with these ensembles, performance spaces, and organs in mind. Cooman is composer-in-residence at Harvard Memorial Church.
